WEATHER POLICY
GCSL policy states that coaches from both teams, the meet referee and Board President will make the final decision to cancel the diving and/or swimming meet. They will try to reschedule the unfinished portion of the meet if environmental conditions are considered dangerous. The referee will ensure adherence to Red Cross guidelines that require the pool and pool deck to be cleared for 30 minutes from the last thunder and/or lightning strike. When thunder and/or lightning delays a meet, all attempts will be made to resume the meet. Be prepared to wait up to 1 hour for restart.

When thunder and/or lightning occurs, instructions will be communicated by our team text messaging service as well as announcements by the officials.  You will then be contacted via text message with updates as to the status of the meet.  Please DO NOT leave the meet until a coach or team text message tells you to do so.  The safety of the teams and patrons is a top priority.

Welcome to the home of The 2017 Westerville JC Poolcats Summer Swim and Dive Team.  Children ages 5-18 of all ability levels compete with other local summer swim teams during the beginning half of the summer.  We are a part of the Greater Columbus Swim League (GCSL) and our meets are on Wednesday afternoons/evenings.  For more information about GCSL go to www.gogcsl.org.

Participants must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle and 25 yards backstroke without stopping and without touching the bottom of the pool to be eligible for the swim team.  All new swimmers need to attend Assessments before joining the team.  You can find more information on our Registration page.

Volunteers are an integral part of our program.  The meets cannot run without the support of the parents.  Each family of a Poolcats swimmer/diver is required to volunteer a minimum of three (3) times throughout the regular season (volunteering for Champs is separate and in addition to). Please go to our Volunteer page for a link to the SignUp Genius as well as descriptions of each role.

During the season we use Remind for group texts regarding any last minute changes to meets, weather, etc.  It is important for all families to be receiving these texts.  You will not receive any texts in the off-season.  To receive messages via text, text '@wjcp' to 81010 or (503) 836-5215.  You can opt-out of messages at anytime by replying ‘unsubscribe @wjcp’.  Or to receive text alerts via email, send and email to wjcp@mail.remind.com.  To unsubscribe, reply with ‘unsubscribe’ in the subject line.

We are looking forward to a fantastic summer with your children!  Please feel free to contact us at jcpoolcats@gmail.com with questions and/or concerns and if you would like to be added or removed from our email distro.
